Dr. Shada Alsalamah is an entrepreneur, academic, public speaker, and a patient-centricity advocate. She is a contributor to the global healthcare sector modernization movement and policymaking through her work on secure, mobile, and intelligent solutions for emerging healthcare delivery models using emerging digital technologies. Currently, Dr. Alsalamah is an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Information Systems Security at King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Affiliate, MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA; and a Vice President of the mHealth Solutions Division at AnmarIT, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Alsalamah also consults for Pacioli, Florida, USA and the Centre of Excellence in Information Assurance, KSU. Finally, she serves on a number of global blockchain, AI, and information security boards including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Blockchain Expert Policy Advisory Board, France; TheDevMaster, Los Angeles; Saudi Association for Information Security, Riyadh; and CIAG. Between 2017-2019 Dr. Alsalamah joint the Media Lab, MIT as a Visiting Scholar working with Professor Pentland’s Human Dynamics group on the application of the blockchain and open algorithms in healthcare. Early 2019, she co-founded the Global Co-Creation Laboratory, MIT Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES), MIT, USA. Through this lab, she builds a network of leaders in science, technology and the broader healthcare industry from the MENA region to create the necessary leadership and technologies to solve local problems with the potential to have global impact. In 2019, Dr. Alsalamah was awarded the Professional Certificate Program in Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence on the MIT Camus in Cambridge, MA, USA, and in 2018 both the ISO27005 Certified ISMS Risk Management and ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Auditor. She also holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science since 2015, as well as, a MSc degree in Strategic Information Systems with Information Assurance since 2010 both from Cardiff University, Cardiff, UK. Finally, Dr. Alsalamah is a member of the editorial review board of a number of international journals and has been an invited speaker and a panelist at a number of regional and international events, including, Misk Talk, Blockchain in Healthcare, World Bank, United Nations, OECD, University of Oxford, ASPEN, and the British Science Collaboration Symposium on Cyber Security.
