Mohammed Shael Alsaadi is an exceptional professional, technocrat & a well-respected public-sector thought leader whose outstanding leadership skills have contributed to the successful outcome of city’s major strategic developments initiated by the Government of Dubai. Following his graduation from UOWD with a Master of Quality Management, Mohammed led the quality management and strategic planning functions within the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) where he was also Vice President in charge of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Mohammed took the lead in advancing the company’s understanding of customer, employee, investor and societal expectations in relation to responsible corporate citizenship. In his current role as CEO of the Corporate Strategic Affairs Sector of the Department of Economic Development (DED), where again he applies his quality management skills to ensure that the DED strategy is aligned with the overall Government excellence models & international standards for achieving efficiency and better utilisation of resources. Mohammed also has a strategic role in developing revolutionary strategies & innovative initiatives to shape future of Dubai’s economy, create a resilient economic growth and sustain a competitive business environment in Dubai.
Supporting H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision of making Dubai the smartest & happiest city in the world, Mohammed has spearheaded the migration of DED services onto a smart platform, He has also led an unprecedented expansion of Business Registration and Licensing service channels and partnerships and has been credited with improving the UAE’s World Bank global ranking in Ease of Doing Business. Mohammed crowned DED with globally first Govt. to use cognitive computing through IBM-Watson based solution “Rashid”.
In Addition, Mohammed also plays a pivotal role on various city development boards/committees Viz. Member of Dubai Smart City Initiative (DSCI) executive committee, leads the marketing and customer interactions channel sub-committee, member on the Dubai Smart Government (SDG) executive committee, Board member of Dubai Design District (D3), beside his role as a board member, Mohammed is the chairperson of Regulation & Policy Committee, responsible for attracting talents in the design, Lately, Mohammed was nominated to the Dubai Open Data Committee, responsible for establishing a framework that allows citizens, residents, companies and students to take advantage of Dubai Data to create an added value services. A strategic thinker and prolific speaker, Mohammed is frequently invited to address regional and international audiences on business competitiveness and the ongoing efforts to achieve Dubai’s Smart City vision.
